Terrence,

Thank you and Carol for arranging for you, me, Jeff and Damien to meet Tuesday, January 18 at 3:30 pm.  I'm wondering if we could reserve a few minutes near the end of the meeting to schedule similar meetings with other key officials such as the Chief of Police.

The Bicycle Board is grateful for your participation in our monthly meeting last week.  I feel we're off to an exciting and productive start together.

I was particularly impressed that Las Cruces is a League of American Bicyclists Bronze level Bicycle Friendly Community.  I look forward to your insights to help Morgantown win the award as well.

As you know, the Award criteria are divided into 6 areas: Education, Engineering, Enforcement, Encouragement, Evaluation and Equity.  Our 2007 application is available on the City's website at Bicycle Application for the League of American Bicyclists Bicycle Friendly Community Award .

Attached is the feedback  that we received.  As I mentioned, we've addressed most of the feedback that we received and we're almost ready to submit another application.  However, the Enforcement recommendations remain to be addressed.

Perhaps our next meeting could be with the Chief of Police once a permanent replacement for Chief Scott is in place.  Other officials that are key stakeholders in our comprehensive bicycle plan would be the Parking Authority and BOPARC.
