See attached report from Denise Binion. Perhaps we need another action, the Marcellus Committee still is not done, and they now think it iwll be November before a special session is called. How about we shift the focus to Tomblin. He is running for Governor this month, and, notwithstanding his Executive Order, he doesn't seem to think this is an "Emergency".

Election early Oct. How about we gather at the Capitol and march into his office and present a demand? I did this once with a group - so have others. Gets good media - sing/chant/etc, signs. Someone will come out to see us (time it so we know he's in if possible), leave when asked to or not if you don't mind being arrested. Only works if there is a "critical mass" of protesters, I'd say minimum 10, going in. Whatever it is, it needs to be soon. Election is October 4, I believe.

Potent idea, Jim. In addition, he'll have scheduled campaign stops around the state, most will be public with media. Protesters at those events would apply pressure and get media attention as well....chuck

Bill, Not having had any experience with the South Central Jail, I won't argue with your assessment.
I have no intention of being arrested, but I do intend to continue to voice our opinions in a safe, orderly, and legal manner. To remain silent would be irresponsible and un-American.

The movie titled "The Last Mountain" has some fairly clear video of the last occupation of the governor's office. The State Police asked folks to leave with some level of "politeness" but were fairly rough in their handling of folks after. Not rising to the level of brutality. Just damn uncomfortable for most and fairly painful for others. The dividing line appeared to be whether the arrestee voluntarily stood up and walked to the paddy wagon when advised that they were under arrest. Or lay down on the floor and made the cops carry em. The latter were NOT handled gently.
